The technical skills on this shot are commendable. However, there are some composition problems that keep this shot from really sticking out.

The grass sort of forms a distracting cross pattern that the single drop gets lost in. Instead of being drawn to the droplet, my eyes are leading me to other blades of grass.

The bokeh is pretty unattractive, and I think that's what hurts this image the most. The background is somewhat busy, and that confuses the eye and takes it away from the point of interest, the drop.

I think this could be a better shot if a shallower DOF was used to better isolate the droplet.

It's a commendable effort, unfortunately, it lacks vision, and ultimately lacks impact.

 Hello =Isje You asked for a critique of this interesting piece in #thumbsshare so I thought I would help you out if I can. :) First, let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of this perspective. I love when someone gets down on eye level with their subject as you have done here. I also am very impressed that you took the time to notice something so potentially beautiful that is below where most people look at, so again  I applaud you on a very selective depth of field that draws the viewers eye to the spot of the image that you wanted to be seen. I do wonder if maybe this is a crop of the original image though as the crispness seems to start at the middle of the image and extend off the left hand side of the frame. If it was cropped, maybe to draw even more attention to the area that you wanted, you could have cropped more off of the right side, still leaving a small area of blurred image and included the left side until it reached the blurred area. As it stands now, my eye is drawn all the way off of the left side, searching for what may have been there. Overall, it is a very wonderful piece with wonderful coloration, good composition and great execution. Keep up the great work!
